I’m Bill Hagara. I build software, and lately I write about it.

The core of my work is FileMaker: I build, maintain, and modernize business systems for organizations, a lot of them still running years after I first set them up. Decades of that taught me to keep things small, honest, and maintainable.

That experience feeds the software I build under my own name — Just What’s Needed, Hub, and FieldWork — and the writing, which tries to be useful rather than loud.

This site is intentionally plain. It’s a front door, not a brochure — a place to keep the current threads in one spot.
